From a quiet feed to £42k in sales

ATM Sports had a strong reputation offline and almost nothing on LinkedIn. Ninety days later, LinkedIn was their best source of new business.

The challenge

A busy team with a quiet feed.

A busy team with a quiet feed.

ATM Sports supplies kit and equipment to clubs, schools and leisure centres across the UK. Most of their work came through referrals, and the team was too busy delivering it to think about social media.

Their LinkedIn page had a logo, a cover image and four posts from the last year. Buyers who looked them up after a referral found nothing that showed the size of the business or the clubs they already worked with.

They came to us with three questions:

  • What should a sports supplier actually post?

  • Who has time to write and design it every week?

  • How will we know if any of it is working?

What we did

We gave LinkedIn a plan and stuck to it.

We gave LinkedIn a plan and stuck to it.

The goal was simple: when a buyer looked ATM Sports up, they should see a busy, credible supplier with clubs they recognised. Here's how we got there.

1. We built a brand bible in week one.

One onboarding form and a short call gave us their tone, their best clients and the products they wanted to sell more of. We turned it into a brand bible the team signed off before a single post went live.

2. We planned content around what buyers search for.

Social listening showed what clubs and schools were asking about: kit lead times, bulk pricing, new-season ranges. We built four content pillars around those questions.

  • Club spotlights showing kit in use

  • New-season ranges and product drops

  • Behind the scenes at the warehouse

  • Practical tips for kit managers

3. We posted three times a week, every week.

Every month the same designer and copywriter produced twelve posts. The ATM team reviewed the calendar in our portal, left comments in one place and approved the month in about ten minutes.

4. We reported every month and adjusted.

Club spotlights outperformed everything else by a wide margin, so from month two we doubled them and dropped the posts that weren’t landing. Each report showed what changed and why.

The results

By day 90, LinkedIn was bringing in work.

Day 90

Within three months, ATM Sports’ page went from occasional posts to a steady presence that buyers noticed.

  • LinkedIn impressions up 184%

  • £42k in sales traced back to social

  • 3.1x more profile visits

  • Twelve posts a month, approved in around ten minutes

More importantly, new enquiries started mentioning the posts. Buyers who’d been referred could now see the clubs ATM already supplied before they picked up the phone.

“We knew we should be on LinkedIn but never had the time. Now it just happens, and buyers mention our posts when they call.”
